I appreciate any help you are able to provide. The other thing I have considered is just recording to the SD card, but I am not sure if that would be a benefit and was concerned about how quickly the space would get used. I will likely try to setup Jellyfin again to see if using a direct stream from an M3U tuner will help, but the last time I had Jellyfin setup I couldn't seem to get past permissions issues trying to record to the external hard drive. I don't know how to evaluate these, or what the expectation would be. What I am trying to understand is if the HDhomerun tuner used by Plex is interfering with the stream, the Raspberry Pi is being overloaded, or I have an issue with bandwidth to the external harddrive. Locast runs smoothly from the Roku app on my tv, but I have issues when I access through the Plex app. I access this server from a Roku client connected via a power-line network (I have tried running a 100' ethernet to see if this is a bottle neck, but it acts the same). The Raspberry Pi is connected via Ethernet to the DSL router (5 Mbps). I am having some issues with the recording skipping over parts, and with the stream buffering and taking a while to restart when fast forwarding, or rewinding. I am recording to a USB 500 GB external hard drive. I am currently running a Plex server connected to a virtual tuner (Locast2tuner). I am running a Raspberry Pi 4 4B with a 128 GB SD card.
